Absence explained, hopefully!

Hey Guys, 3 weeks since the last post! Woops!

But I do have explanation for that, been upto my neck in University work these last few weeks and also had a few exams! But they’re over now and as of tomorrow I move back home to put an end to my freshers year at university!

Been a great year, and really enjoying everything about uni life so far!

Since the last post, A LOT of sporting events has happened! We (LFC) lost the FA Cup to Chelsea, City snatched the league from United in the dying seconds, Kenny gets the boot and then Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in their own back garden on penalties!

This post ties in with the sport theme, a new advert from those genius’ at Nike.

“My Time Is Now” is the new title of Nike‘s new project, with a range of adverts to deliver this. Having already seen the Mario Balotelli ad with his haircut, this is my fave.

Without too much explanation, a whole host of famous footballers endorsed by Nike appear in this advert, which first starts as a fixture between the Holland and France national teams.. but as a Nike advert it was never to be that simple!

This still doesn’t top the Brazil Vs Portugal advert years back for me, but its still a good watch.. Enjoy!

As a matter of Pinterest.

Another few days has passed where I havn’t done any posts, again – apologies!

This time, I’ve been doing quite a lot of uni work as well as checking out a new platform – Pinterest.

And I’ve got to say, I’m very impressed. I had heard about the concept a while back during a lecture, but for some reason I delayed looking into the idea of it, even though i was interested in it.

Sounds so simple, a couple of boards, add pins to them, share with followers. Thats because it is so simple, yet so effective. Boards can created to completely shape your personality, from a board on favourite foods to even what clothes you enjoy wearing. I have no followers just yet (ha ha) but I’m not too bothered. I’m enjoying scouring the internet and pinning out things that reflect my views or my interests.

If you want to check out my profile on there, by all means your welcome to here.

Can see a big future for Pinterest, and who knows where it will go!? Sky’s the limit!
Heres a post I recently pinned to my boards, when the mighty Nelson Mandela took a trip to Anfield!

30 Seconds to Mars, Literally.

Quick little post about a pretty decent advert at the moment. Mars have released a 30 second advert (coincidence? Too the band, 30 seconds to mars), with a football edge to it.

Pretty self explanatory when viewing, but England are playing a football match against Holland, in a penalty shoot out. The keeper goes off injured and a fan (eating a the famous chocolate bar), pulls of his jacket and jumps in between the sticks for England in the shoot out.

Anyway, long story short the man saves a Robin Van Persie penalty, and another one with the famous Rene Higuita acrobatic save being replayed! Scott Parker, Glen Johnson and Theo Walcott make appearances in the ad too!

Just a whitty ad, that as a football fan is quite enjoyable and not draining (Ocean Finance sort of thing). Here it is for you lovely lot, enjoy.

Happy Birthday Sylvinho!

Growing up intoxicated by football, Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, more commonly known as Sylvinho, was one of my idols.

For reasons unknown still, I always carried a liking for the left back, despite him playing for rivals Arsenal. He has one of the sweetest left foots that has every graced the premier league, and can also defend when called upon.

He called time upon his career after a short stint at Manchester City in 2010, and for me will always be remembered as an influential left back. After all, you can’t be a bad player if you’ve had spells at Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester City, right?

Today, Sylvinho is celebrating his 38th birthday, and I would just love to make a little tribute to him with this glowing memory I have. I must of only been 8 years old, possibly 9 (can’t be too sure) when Sylvinho scored this bullet for Arsenal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Frank LeBouef (I think) was the player who makes a tackle on the edge of the 18 yard box, only for it to fall directly to Sylvinho. A left foot bullet is then unleashed to leave Ed De Goey with absolutely no chance. The quality isn’t the best, but take a look at this beauty.

Suarez – Frustrating or Amazing?

I follow a member on Twitter about my favourite football club – Liverpool FC.

Yes, we havn’t been the most consistent team this year – by a long shot! I came accross this interesting debate that the user (unsure of name) posted about our talisman, Luis Suarez.

Suarez can be magic, but can also have you tearing your hair out at some wasted opportunities. This post debates whether he really is magical, or just purely frustrating!
