Well its been a long time since I’ve last posted on here which is not good! But I’m back now, and looking to get this away from being stagnant for as long as it has been!
I’ve been on my summer holidays from uni and I’ve had a quality couple of months. Been on a quiet holiday with my mates to a nice rural place called Malia.. hmm. Also had a “quiet weekend” at Leeds Festival which was absolutely amazing!
I need to get my head screwed back on for uni as I go back in the next couple of weeks, so I’ve been doing a bit of Internet scouring and found a curious video involving Facebook and checking in.
Here it goes!
FaceDeals is a system which is looking to change the way in which people check-in on Facebook. For me personally, I don’t really check in much, unless I’m somewhere I feel is worthy of a check-in – at the airport or at Anfield perhaps. But anyway, this is crazy!
FaceDeals is being installed for local businesses as a system that will use facial recognition to identify a person. The cameras will capture an image of the person being used, identify it with recently tagged photographs of them on their profile, and then send them particular offers which may be useful to the given person in their current location, dependent on their profile!
Sounds so advanced but it looks like it will be a very intriguing system if it is a success! Here check out this video from the creators RedPepper to explain it better.
